Healthy
Cooking Classes in Chef Bob's Kitchen

Now you can take professional cooking classes right
in Chef Bob's kitchen. All Classes are only $60 per person, including the cost of food.
All classes include a course syllabus (workbook) that you keep and they last about
3 hours. Classes should have no more than four people as we will be
covering a lot of material and actually cooking most of the time.
Sauces - This class will teach you the
basic "Mother Sauces" from which all other sauces are derived. For
instance, a Béarnaise sauce is made from first creating a Hollandaise Sauce.
We'll make stock, use the stock in sauces and more! This is the first
class most students take since it covers such a wide area.
Pizza - We'll make our own dough, then
show you some shortcuts to make it easier and tastier. We'll go through
some of the tricks and tips that make great, crusty pizzas possible in your own
oven at a SMALL fraction of what you'd pay down the street!
Sauté - This class will teach you how to
cook quick, easy dishes and create pan sauces at the end of the cooking, just
the way French Chefs have been making them for centuries. Your family will
appreciate the world-class flavors you can deliver and you'll quickly see how
easy it is to turn our great food.
Barbeque -
Learn the difference between Barbeque and Grilling (they're very different) and
how to turn out Barbeque that's every bit as good as the commercial stuff.
We'll even make up some wonderful BBQ sauces and rubs to guarantee great taste!
Note, this class starts with three days of preparation before the actual class
in brining, rubs and preparation methods.
Grilling - Learn how to grill without burning
your food. Learn how to tell when food is completely cooked. Learn
how (and when) to properly apply BBQ sauces, marinades and rubs. You'll get all the
tips you need for perfect results. Stop burning your steaks and chops!
Baking - Do your cakes come out looking funny?
Do your cookies look like you could slide them under a door? There is nothing funny about spending all that time and effort to settle for
inferior results. You'll bake some cakes, make frosting and learn the
tricks of the trade from a professional! You can design the content of
this class to "fill in the blanks" of your existing knowledge.
NEW - Oriental Stir-Fry - Healthy, low-fat options are
everywhere when you know how to Stir-Fry. This is the healthy way to
increase your intake of fruits and vegetables while having delicious Oriental
food. Learn how to make last-minute sauces and which ingredients to use to add to your
stir-fry (and when!).
NEW - Fruit Carving - We'll carve fruits and
vegetables to use as centerpieces and for buffet garnishes. If watermelon
is in season, we can even go exotic with some easy Oriental artwork and
functional designs. You'll learn many easy garnishing techniques to make
your dishes beautiful as well as enticing. Other cooks and Chefs have taken this
class from me for years. NOW, you can too!
